Telegram

Conversations for people and communities

Telegram supports direct messages, group discussions, and channels in one Android app. A personal chat can handle a quick update, while a group brings several people into the same conversation. Channels offer a way to follow updates from a source you choose.

Share and keep moving

Messages and supported files can move with your conversations, making the app useful for sending more than short text. Telegram can also make supported chats available on multiple devices, so you can continue a discussion when you switch screens.

Set up the conversation you need

Choose the right chat or group for the people involved, then review its notification and privacy options. Security settings are not identical for every type of Telegram conversation, so check the app's controls rather than assuming one mode fits all uses.

Before you download

An internet connection is required to send and receive messages. Features and limits may vary with the app version and device.
