Monster Hunter Wilds Character Edits: Voucher Timeline

Capcom plans free repeatable hunter edits in 2027 and a December 2026 voucher transition, including grants and paid-buyer pendants.

Capcom has announced a change to Character Edit Vouchers in Monster Hunter Wilds ahead of the planned 2027 release of Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance. When the Ver. 2 update arrives with Ascendance, hunters will be able to re-edit their hunter's appearance as often as they like without a voucher or additional charge. That change is not live on October 29, 2026. Until then, the existing voucher rules still matter, and Capcom has set a separate December 3, 2026 transition for voucher distribution and a temporary free grant.

What changes on December 3, 2026?

Capcom says distribution of Character Edit Vouchers will end on all platforms on that date. After applying the December 3 game update, players are due to receive ten Character Edit Vouchers and ten Palico Edit Vouchers as a temporary measure. Previously held vouchers can still be used until the 2027 Ascendance release, according to the announcement. This is a planned schedule, so check the live update notice if a platform patch is delayed or a regional store still displays an old offer.

Several voucher packs and free trial versions are listed as discontinued items, including three-voucher packs for hunter edits, Palico edits and combined edits. Do not purchase a pack simply because an old guide says it is needed for a future appearance change. The announced unlimited free editing has a different start date from the December 2026 voucher distribution. Reading the two dates together avoids the mistaken conclusion that permanent unlimited edits are already available this year.

Who receives the thank-you pendants?

Capcom says players who previously paid for specified Character Edit Voucher DLC are eligible for a Special Thank-You Pendant Set. It names Heavenly Hog and Beelzeboar as the two pendants. The notice ties the automatic grant to applying the December 3, 2026 update. Eligibility is not described as “anyone who ever used a free voucher”; it is tied to purchases of the named paid three-voucher packs. Check the list in Capcom's original announcement against your own purchase history before expecting the items.

The publisher notes that the pendants may be offered separately later. That is a possibility, not a promise of a specific price, date or free release. If your account qualifies but the pendants do not appear after the stated update, verify the game version and the platform account used for the DLC before contacting official support.

What does Ver. 2 mean for an existing save?

Capcom says the free, repeatable hunter appearance edit will apply to the base Monster Hunter Wilds as well as Ascendance when Ver. 2 launches in 2027. That is important for a player who owns the base game but not the announced follow-up. The post does not say every other edit or cosmetic item becomes free, nor does it provide a final exact 2027 release day. Keep the promise narrow: hunter appearance editing is the feature described.

Questions players are asking

Can I edit my hunter for free without limit today?

Not under the future Ver. 2 policy. Capcom says that policy arrives with Ascendance in 2027. The separate December 3, 2026 update is planned to provide a limited grant of ten hunter and ten Palico vouchers while players wait for the later change.

Will my unused paid vouchers disappear in December?

The announcement says players can continue to use their existing Character Edit Vouchers until Ascendance releases in 2027. It says distribution ends in December, which is different from immediately invalidating vouchers already held. Check the live notice for any later adjustment to that plan.

Does every voucher owner get the pendants?

No. Capcom identifies purchasers of specific paid three-voucher DLC packs as eligible for the two-pendant thank-you set. Free trial vouchers and the upcoming free grant are not listed as eligibility by themselves. Compare the original product names with your transaction history.
