Vampire Survivors Legacy of the Bloodmoon: DLC and 1.16 Update

Separate the paid Bloodmoon DLC, Moonspell additions and free Vampire Survivors 1.16 fixes using poncle's official release notes.

Legacy of the Bloodmoon is a paid Vampire Survivors expansion announced as available in poncle's August 28, 2026 Steam post. The announcement also covers an update to the earlier Legacy of the Moonspell expansion and free base-game improvements in version 1.16.100. These are three separate things. A player should not assume that the new Bloodmoon characters or stage are part of the free patch, or that buying one expansion unlocks the other.

What Bloodmoon contains

Poncle lists 12 characters, more than 16 weapons and evolutions, 11 music tracks, one adventure and a large new stage. Its story follows Clan Bloodmoon as it retraces Saint Baal'Thasar's pilgrimage toward a red-moon paradise and an ancient manor. The publisher's playful description calls the characters “villains friendly characters”; the useful fact for buyers is the named content count, not a promise about the strength of any particular build. Exact regional price can change after the launch offer. Check the live Steam package before purchasing.

What existing Moonspell owners get

The same post says Legacy of the Moonspell receives five extra weapons, four characters, one music track and buffs to its original cast. That update is relevant to people who already own the older expansion, but it does not turn Moonspell into Bloodmoon. If your favorite build depends on an older character, review the current in-game behavior after updating. The announcement does not provide a numerical tier list for those buffs.

What changed in the base update

Version 1.16.100 includes performance and quality-of-life work. The post says Banish no longer immediately closes the Level Up menu, Quickstart tries to pick a character or stage related to a missing unlock, and certain special passive items become available in ArmaDios and appropriate Level Up choices. Poncle also describes fixes for Drowner spawning, sprites, low-frame-rate damage numbers and some weapon textures. These patch details are useful even to a player who buys no DLC.

Platform and achievement caveats

The August post expected Android and Nintendo Switch version 1.16.105 later than the initial update, so do not use the Steam announcement as proof every platform received the same patch on the same day. It also discussed planned Steam achievements for a future 1.17 patch, while saying the team was still working out how to avoid altering the main-game completion rate. Check current patch notes rather than treating that earlier plan as proof the achievements are live now.
