Planet Zoo 2: First Update and Planned Maintenance
Planet Zoo 2's first post-launch update tackles graphics settings, audio, key binds, and stability while Frontier investigates animal behavior.

In this guide
Frontier's early Planet Zoo 2 update separates fixes already discussed from issues still being investigated, alongside a short maintenance notice for its online features.
First wave of fixes
The developer says its first update addresses reported DLSS and FSR problems, key-binding issues, audio distortion, and stability. A further update was planned for later in the same week; the announcement should not be read as proof that every reported issue is resolved.
Animal behavior under review
Climbing, escapes, and enrichment-object use remain areas of investigation. If a problem is repeatable, Frontier asks players to report the steps through its issue tracker so the team can reproduce and examine it.
A dated maintenance window
The October 14 notice scheduled roughly one hour of downtime on October 15 at about 07:00 BST. Franchise Mode and the Workshop were expected to be unavailable during that period. This was a dated service notice, not an ongoing outage warning.
Follow current status
For any revised timing, follow-up patch, or newly confirmed fix, consult the official Steam update and Frontier's current support channels. The difference between a planned fix and a shipped one matters when troubleshooting a zoo.
