Gray Zone Warfare 0.5 Preview: Branch Access and Partial Wipe
Supporter Edition owners can test Gray Zone Warfare 0.5 early; the official notice explains branch switching, retained progress and irreversible choices.

In this guide
Gray Zone Warfare's Update 0.5 Supporter Preview is an early-access branch for Supporter Edition owners, not a general release for every edition. MADFINGER Games says progress made in the preview carries into the full Rogue Ops release scheduled for October 22, 2026. The announcement also warns that switching to the preview branch prevents returning to version 0.4.7.6. Read that limitation before changing branches to play with friends on the older build.
Who can enter and how to switch
Owners of the Supporter Edition can select the “supporter-preview” branch in Steam's Properties → Game Versions & Betas menu, then download update 0.5. Owners of the base, Tactical or Elite editions may upgrade by paying the price difference, according to the publisher. That is an optional paid upgrade for early preview access; the article does not imply everyone needs to buy it for the later full update. If an update does not appear, the developer suggests restarting Steam or cycling offline and online mode.
What the partial wipe keeps—and removes
The update retains completed tasks, rank, unlocked apparel, vendor levels and statistics from 0.4, but wipes the locker and money to rebalance the economy. That is a “soft wipe,” not a promise that every inventory item survives. On first entering the preview or full 0.5 release, players choose which mode receives their existing character progression. The notice calls this choice irreversible; the faction remains the same. Confirm your preferred mode before committing, especially if your squad is coordinating progression.
What Rogue Ops adds
The new loop centers on building a Hideout, crafting, contraband operations, hunting and high-risk tasks. The publisher also lists multiple playable characters, new major and smaller locations, seven weapons, more than 340 weapon parts, a streamlined health system, revised combat outposts, AI behavior and anti-cheat measures. These are developer-described features, not an independent assessment of how balanced or stable they are. The announcement pairs the preview with hotfix 0.4.7.6, so players who stay on the older branch should read the separate hotfix notes rather than assume preview-only systems apply there.
Before switching: verify edition ownership, coordinate your branch with teammates, note the no-return warning and decide which mode should inherit progression. Check the current Steam notice for any release or migration changes after the preview.
