Gears of War: E-Day — October 14 Patch Highlights
The October 14 Gears of War: E-Day patch focuses on Ranked placement, longer-session stability, account access, and mode-specific fixes.

In this guide
The Coalition's October 14 notes touch several parts of Gears of War: E-Day. The most visible competitive change is a correction to how Ranked placement results were assigned.
Ranked placement correction
A problem introduced around Ranked Versus could put players in an unintended skill division after placement matches. The patch changes that assignment process so new placements better match the intended result. The announcement does not say that every previous ranking has been recalculated.
Stability across devices
The notes describe optimization work for PC, Xbox, and handheld play, including memory-use improvements aimed at crashes or performance decline in extended sessions. Results can still depend on hardware and settings; the patch notes list work delivered, not a universal performance guarantee.
Smaller changes players may notice
Players can turn off collectible audio chimes, and some on-screen diagnostic text has been reduced. The same update also addresses account linking, sign-in, social features, anti-cheat, Campaign, and Horde Siege issues.
Check the issue list
If you are following a particular bug, consult the official patch notes before assuming it is fixed. They contain the exact issue-by-issue scope and support information that a short overview cannot reproduce.
